Flask and The Press is an intimate contemporary bar lounge hidden behind the facade of a small sandwich shop in Shanghai, China. Designed by Alberto Caiola who used the traditional speakeasy concept and created the idea of using a vintage Coca-Cola vending machine as a camouflage door entrance to an elegant speakeasy-themed bar and lounge.
The juxtaposition of the cheery and light atmosphere of the front sandwich shop “The Press”, and the dark and cozy atmosphere of the hidden bar “Flask” is unique and playful.
