Stunning French Chateau Style Mansion In Los Angeles

The Manor, located at 594 S. Mapleton Drive in the Holmby Hills neighbourhood in Los Angeles, California is a stunning 56,500 square feet mansion on a 4.6 acre lot. Also known as Spelling Manor, it was the home of television producer Aaron Spelling. Designed by architects James Langenheim & Associates, the French Chateau style mansion has 14 bedrooms, 27 bathrooms, a billiards room, bowling alley, arcade room, swimming pool, tennis courts, and servants quarters. Built in 1988, this grand residence is one of the most expensive private homes in the world. It was sold to heiress Petra Ecclestone in 2011 for US$85 million.

This unique house’s open scheme and its landscaping maximize the potential of this landlocked site. The floating living room and bedroom suite hover over transparent 12 foot high glass walls. The interior space provides uninterrupted views of the landscape. Sliding doors and moveable interior partitions can open to reveal even private areas to the rest of the house and nature beyond.

Situated on Mt. Helix in La Mesa, California, this modern house has been completely restored inside and out. The original house was designed by architect John Mock and built in the 1960’s. The renovation project included a newly added swimming pool, restored kitchen cabinets and new flooring. The plans, designed by Foster + Partners, comprise of a main spaceship office building and research facilities for 13,000 employees.
