Located in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains just west of Silicon Valley, this minimalist house in Cupertino, California is like a glass box that floats in the dense tree canopy.
Designed by Craig Steely Architecture, distinct interior spaces are created by sinking them into the concrete floor. A spacious sunken living room is filled with a massive B&B Italia “Tufty Time” sofa. A sunken office features built-in flooring, desk and cabinetry.
The main level living area is cantilevered into the outdoor environment. The large walls of windows fill the interior with natural sunlight.
