Located in the Kalorama neighborhood in Washington DC, this elegant symmetrical three-story Georgian Revival red brick house was extensively renovated, and a modern conservatory was added in the backyard garden.
Donald Lococo Architects created a modern rear addition that would contrast with the traditional façade but complement the historical details on the front exterior. Jennifer Horn Landscape Architecture collaborated on the project.
The interior of the 5,156-square-foot, 5-bedroom home was revitalized. At the back of the house, the modern conservatory provides space for a new breakfast room.
A finial was added to the conservatory’s dark roof as a focal point through the rear Palladian window. It also matches the existing finial over the front door.
