Villa Il Cortile in Palm Beach, Florida is a waterfront home with Mediterranean style architecture that hearkens back to the urban façades of Renaissance Italian palazzi.
Designed by Fairfax & Sammons Architecture in collaboration with interior designer Betsy Shiverick and SMI Landscape Architecture, the house was built around a central courtyard.
The exterior features stucco façade, glazed green barrel-tiled roof, dramatic arched doors and casement windows with classic shutters.
With views of Lake Worth Lagoon, the expansive lawn with pool, and a very strong connection to the garden, the home was designed for outdoor living.
The courtyard is bordered on one side by a garden with bougainvillea and lush tropical foliage, and on the other by archways leading into a loggia and the living room beyond.
